Nursing aides are an important part of any healthcare establishment. They are the ones who are responsible for the general care of patients. Regarding the educational qualifications to get nursing aide jobs, many community colleges, private vocational schools, adult education programs, and Regional Occupational Programs offer courses as well as training. Many hospitals and nursing homes train a suitable candidate to work as a nursing aide. The training may last from 1 to 9 weeks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Higher and popular medical facilities require certified nursing aides. They are known as Certified Nursing Assistants. For certification, applicants require 50 hours of classroom instructions and 100 hours of clinical practice. In some health institutions, a written and an oral test may also be conducted.
